Planning and DefiningI inquire about your web design ideas before we get started and along the way. You are sent a list of questions about a month before our anticipated start date. The answers to these questions define the look and feel of your website and teach me everything I need to know about the website you are dreaming of. It is important to be organized and detail oriented when answering the questions. I take these questions seriously and it is the foundation for which your site is designed.
DevelopmentWe work in stages allowing you to have input throughout the process. We move forward only after you approve the stage we are in. Approval of stage is contingent upon if you are actively involved, and committed to answering all questions completely by email daily. The process does not stagnate, it should take two weeks from beginning to end and we must keep moving to accomplish the goal, and stay on target for other contractual obligations right behind yours. If you are not available to fully answer questions daily (7 days per week), the design decisions and creative process will be defined and implemented by cgonsa. Generally we don't work backward after you have approved the stage. We start off with establishing a fun and fabulous color scheme, and move to introductory page/landing page, custom web logo and the boutique layout. Generally, all monies are due approximately 1 week into development and acceptance of layout. Once the layout is done, I am usually busy doing the coding and testing for the next week. Handover of the site is usually at the 2-3 weeks coinciding with your teaching which usually falls on the first weekend I am done. When we are done you will be given the foundation teaching to get you started and independent in your management of your website. This is done in one online teaching session and email support.
Details/Availability/Revisions/Data Entry/MaintenanceIt is required you are available by email daily
and completely and fully answering questions during certain parts of the web design process. Generally, the first week is the busiest. Once we start, the entire process moves quickly. I am generally finished with your custom website in about 2-3 weeks time.
I don't put a strict number limit on revisions. With that being said, using fair and reasonable judgment, I reserve the right to stop revisions at any time. Every client and project is unique and this is why I don't stipulate revisions. Certain aspects of the web design process like your logo and unique layout can have several mockups in addition to revisions if you need them. Introductory/landing pages and
custom character illustrations have no mockups because they are labor intensive but do have revision opportunity. Don't worry... I ask plenty of questions and usually nail what you envision.
The intent of
content management system is to allow for your independence and not to have to rely on a web designer for day to day maintenance. If you prefer a web designer whom you pay for everything to be done for you, cgonsa web design is not for you. I promote and teach independence and want you to be successful in your own right.
Data entry of products, page titles and meta-tags are the client’s responsibility. I enter a product or three and get your started providing a few examples and a foundation for you to use as samples for your data entry. You are given a catalog instruction manual in addition to the online teaching session I provide you. I do not enter your products or do data entry. I teach you to do this. Client is responsible for image prep and all literary content. I do not teach image prep I provide you basic tips for web/your website compatibility.
Launch and after TurnoverYou should test the function of your website during the first two weeks of release of your site. Testing function involves carrying out several dummy orders through the entire checkout process. It also involves retrieving and processing orders through invoicing in your shopping catalog admin.
Client’s have 45 days of free email support. I do monitor your progress if you get started during this timeframe and provide you feedback to keep you on the right track. This is the time that you should be entering all your products, filling in the blanks on the nonproduct pages, data entering meta-tags and page titles, and familiarizing yourself with all aspects of your admin and function of your website. I will launch your website and finish up the loose ends on or around the 45 day mark. At this time, I provide you the additional information and SEO overview to allow you to continue on the path of success. I am available by email for the Q & A this triggers for a reasonable period of time.
After the 45 days, there may be additional charge for email support. Where the questions are minor, and do not take me a great deal of time, I encourage you to contact me for free support. I reserve the right to determine minor questions and billable time. You will always be notified of this.
